Smash is a tool that breaks certain pixels in the cursor's range, turning them into other elements. Some elements, like Bubble, are deleted when smashed, and some, like Wall cannot be broken at all. Smash will also move around movable pixels such as powders, regardless of whether or not they are breakable.

As an example, when Rock is smashed it turns into Sand and Gravel, but Dirt just moves around without changing elements.
